DUNEDIN THEATRES

The Fortune Theatre

The Fortune is an excellent place for you to explore and learn about the theatre. They offer a range of EOTC experiences for schools.

You can look around the theatre, join their ambassador programme, take part in their forum debates, talk to the cast and crew of a production or book a drama workshop.

The Fortune Theatre education workshops are show-specific and designed to link to subjects within the New Zealand Curriculum and to NCEA achievement standards.

The Globe Theatre

The Globe Theatre is a unique Dunedin institution dedicated to bringing a variety of classical and modern plays to the public.

The Mayfair Theatre

The Mayfair is an elegant Edwardian theatre owned by the Dunedin Opera Company Inc. and administered by the Mayfair Theatre Trust.

It is used by the opera company for their own productions, but also by local amateur groups including schools.

Dunedin Repertory Society and Playhouse Theatre

Dunedin Repertory Society is an amateur theatre group committed to providing productions of a high standard.

They have at least two major adult productions a year and three children’s shows (Repertory Children’s Theatre). Repertory Society membership is available to anyone on application.
