Under Alert Level 2 we are still open but you will notice some changes.
Opening hours for Dunedin City, Mosgiel, Port Chalmers, Blueskin Bay and Waikouaiti Libraries are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am-4pm (people over 65 years or with a disability given priority during 10am-11am).
South Dunedin hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11am-4pm (people over 65 years or with a disability given priority during 11am-12pm).
Bookbuses are not in service during Alert Level 2.
Home Services will be operated with staff and couriers observing contact tracing, social distancing and appropriate health and safety measures.
All Justice of the Peace sessions have been cancelled.
Contact tracing - all libraries will have an entry station where all visitors will be required to provide contact tracing details and hand sanitise before entry.
Occupancy limits
To ensure safe social distancing, libraries will have the following maximum occupancy levels, including staff, during Alert Level 2:
Blueskin Bay 17
City Library 100
Mosgiel 70
Port Chalmers 26
South Dunedin 13
Waikouaiti 15
Customers will be asked to queue outside and observe safe physical distancing until admitted. Staff will monitor safe physical distancing inside.
Within libraries, services available include:
- borrowing and return of library items
- reference enquiries
- APNK and GigCity wifi will be available
- APNK computers will be available with appropriate physical distancing
- McNab New Zealand Room and Reed Gallery in the City Library will remain open
- virtual public programmes will continue to be available, however physical public programmes will not be held
- digital services
