National Poetry Day 2019: Poets in Space - Readings of New Works by Dunedin Poets Responding to Local Spaces and Places

In partnership with the Otago-Southland NZ Society of Authors, and with the support of Phantom Billstickers, Dunedin Public Libraries invites you to celebrate National Poetry Day at our annual gala event.

For National Poetry Day Emer Lyons and Robyn Maree Pickens have invited seven poets to engage with and respond to a space in Ōtepoti/Dunedin. The spaces include, The Women's Pioneer Hall, Blue Oyster Art Project Space, Laurel Project Space, The New Athenaeum Theatre, non-built environments, and online spaces. Each poet will be creating new work in response to their chosen space. The poets are: Molly Crichton, Lynley Edmeades, Claire Lacey, Sally McIntyre, Shereen Murugayah, Adam Stewart, and Susan Wardell. All poets will be creating new, site-specific poetry for the event.

Join us for music, drinks and nibbles at 5.30pm before the main event! Music by DJ Topaz.

All welcome!
