Story Box Library is a fantastic additional resource for bringing story time, anytime into your home.
Story Box Library can be streamed on any device with an Internet connection, all you need to do is enter your Dunedin Public Library card barcode number to access over 200 stories, with 30-40 more stories added each year.
Story Box Library seeks to Inspire, Connect, Engage and Educate young minds with stories. Most stories are Australian or New Zealand books read in real-time by a talented and diverse range of storytellers. Aimed at children from pre-school to upper primary, Story Box Library models and encourages the importance of storytelling and reading aloud to children. It is easy to navigate and to sort or filter stories, and they can be added to a play queue to be saved for future viewing.
In addition, there are at-home activities, further connecting children to the themes of each story. You can turn closed captions on or off so that the words of the story can be seen (or not). There are also a range of short films available featuring authors and illustrators talking about the creative process.
