Stack Explorers

Have you ever wanted to peek behind the scenes at the library? Here’s your chance! Come on a guided tour of the Children’s stack collection and learn interesting facts about our books. Don’t forget to bring your library card!

Ideal for family groups with children aged 8+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rainbows, swimming holes and mountains

A relaxed story time and art activity inspired by ringatoi Marilynn Webb, and the inspiration she took from the land around us. Enjoy listening to stories about weather, whenua and water. Then expand your imagination with an art activity, creating prints and rubbings of clouds and rain drops.

Suitable for all ages, guidance suggested for children under 5. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Sashiko and the art of visible mending

Got a favourite article of clothing with holes or worn patches? Bring it along to this drop-in session in the Teen Space and learn how to make it beautiful again, sashiko-style.

All materials supplied, will help to have some experience with a needle and thread!
