Sunday 15th November 11am, Ground Floor, City Library: all welcome

Giving voice to the voiceless.

NZ Society of Authors in partnership with Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature and Dunedin Public Libraries, are proud to host a special Courage Day event highlighting the plight of three writers currently imprisoned or persecuted for their writing - Sedigheh Vasmaghi of Iran, Kakwenza Rukirabashaija of Uganda, and Mahmoud Hussein of Egypt. We invite you to learn more about these writers over light refreshments and sign our solidarity books.

Dunedin authors Mira Harrison, Carolyn McCurdie, Diane Brown, Philip Temple, Sophia Wilson, Mike Hamblyn and Rachel Ovens, will present short readings of prose and poems on the subject of freedom of expression.
