Giverny met her first leopard seal only a five-minute drive from where she grew up in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland and from that moment she was hooked.
She has met more than 50 individual leopard seals within a 1.5-hour drive of Dunedin and has recently completed her Masters thesis, looking at leopard seal behaviour and our interactions with them.
Giverny will share what she has learned about the leopard seals of Otago and teach you how to identify different seals and their behaviour. She will also offer guidance on how to live alongside leopard seals.
