Book Sales
The City Library has a Book Sale area located near the Helpdesk on the on the Ground Floor. Our Community Libraries also have Book Sales. You will find fiction and non-fiction books for all ages, as well as magazines. From time to time, we also have talking books, CDs and DVDs.
These items have been withdrawn from our collections after the following factors have been considered: physical condition, number of duplicate copies remaining in the collections, expected future use, number of issues since the material was acquired, number of recent issues, availability elsewhere in Dunedin or New Zealand, practicality and cost of repair.
In 2026, we are holding a 4-day Book Sale on the Ground Floor of City Library, starting Tuesday 01 December and finishing on Friday 04 December. New materials will be added every day. Come along to stock up for summer. Check out the event: December 2026 Book Sale.
