Book Sales
The City Library has a Book Sale ‘shop’ located near the Helpdesk on the on the Ground Floor. Here you will find adult and children’s books, both fiction and non fiction, magazines as well as CDs and DVDs from time to time.
These items have been withdrawn from our collections after the following factors have been considered: physical condition, number of duplicate copies remaining in the collections, expected future use, number of issues since the work was acquired, number of recent issues, status as a standard work or classic. historical or research value, availability elsewhere in Dunedin or New Zealand, practicality and cost of repair.
It is unlikely that the City Library will hold an annual book sale again since the ‘shop’ is so popular and the stock moves quickly through it.
You will find sale bins at all the community libraries too.
Check it out, there is always a bargain.
