Constable Nick Turner
The 2022 Dunedin Public Libraries Citation was presented to Constable Nick Turner by Deputy Mayor Sophie Barker during the annual volunteers' morning tea on Wednesday 7th December.
Constable Nick Turner has supported staff at Dunedin Public Libraries City Library since 2020 in his role as Dunedin Central Community Constable. He has offered valuable advice on how to manage difficult situations and advises on best practice for de-escalation and response. He has provided much appreciated assistance during challenging and sometimes distressing events and has helped the supervisors particularly by giving up his valuable time to talk through events and offer reassurance.
As a community partner, Nick has provided invaluable advice and assistance to improve the safety and security of the City Library, its staff and its customers, which in turn has enhanced the role of the public library in community wellbeing.
